SOUTH BEND -- Christy Burgess is not acting when she explains with enthusiasm how theater can benefit young students.
“I want to promote literacy through drama,” says Burgess, the Shakespeare outreach program director at the Robinson Community Learning Center.
Her desire to achieve that goal was only enhanced over the past year as she worked toward a master’s degree in drama and theater education at the University of Warwick in England and was afforded the opportunity to observe the Royal Shakespeare Company.
