Thirty students at the Robinson Community Learning Center are reading Shakespeare’s plays aloud for 24 straight hours beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday March 21st and ending at 10 a.m. on Sunday March 22nd. This is the 4th consecutive year of Shakespeare 24. The event aims to raise $1,800 to fund a trip to Chicago for the students to see Muse of Fire’s production of Cymbeline.

Several plays will be read aloud over the 24 hour period by students ranging in age from 3rd through 12th grade. All students are given the opportunity to read the character of their choice. To keep students engaged and awake throughout the event, theatre games and spontaneous dance parties will be sprinkled into the readings after 2 a.m.

"I love Shakespeare 24.  It gives me a time to connect with my Shakespeare ensemble, because we're all a family and I love them" said Tiana Mudzimurema, a 14 year old RCLC student who has been involved in the Robinson Shakespeare Company for five years.

Students find pledges for every hour that they read, or supporters can make flat donations to the Robinson Shakespeare Company. For more information, please visit the Robinson Community Learning Center’s website at rclc.nd.edu.
