As Associate Vice President for Public Affairs at the University of Notre Dame, Tim focuses on state and local government relations, as well as community relations. He serves as the primary liaison between Notre Dame and community leaders. Tim has been significantly involved with many projects and initiatives in South Bend including the Hydropower Facility, rerouting of Douglas Road, the revitalization of the Northeast Neighborhood and the Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory.

Tim currently serves as an executive committee board member for the Chamber of Commerce, the Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization Organization, and the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, and is a board member of the Redevelopment Authority and the St. Joseph County Parks Department. In the past, Tim has served on the boards or advisory councils of numerous local organizations, including Alzheimer’s Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Center for the Homeless, Center for Hospice Care, Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka, Goodwill Industries, Junior Achievement and Real Services.

Tim arrived at the University after serving as Vice President, Community Development at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), where he represented SJRMC with federal, state and local elected officials. Additionally, he provided executive leadership for The Foundation of SJRMC leading the “Building Our Future” capital campaign, which raised $12.6 million from community leaders, businesses, foundations, and grants.

Tim received the MLK Drum Majors Award for Service in 2019 for his volunteerism in the community. In 2008, Tim received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Chamber of Commerce -Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka for his continuous efforts and dedication to the surrounding community.
