Campus Compact, a coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents, has named Stuart Greene, an Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI) Fellow at the University of Notre Dame and director of the Education, Schooling, and Society (ESS) program, one of the 2011 recipients of the Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award. Greene, an associate professor English, incorporates community-based research into his work preparing undergraduates to participate in the education of young people locally and throughout the country.
